Come to my place! I would love to share my Milan, Michigan, home studio with you.

The small size of my at-home workshop ensures lots of individual attention, and every group is an amazing community. Having a wide variety of student levels in my workshops is not unusual. Whether you are a complete newbie or an experienced painter looking to experiment with new processes and materials, or would like to advance your skills, we can create a unique experience for you.

The workshop fee includes all materials, tools, lunch, and beverages. Lunch is usually artist-made soup or a sandwich, and salad. A vegetarian option will be available. I provide coffee and water throughout the day. Feel free to bring your preferred beverage.

There are four workshop dates listed below. Both September and December dates will provide an option for Still Life on one of the days and Landscape on the other.

Advance payment is required at the time of registration.

Creatively explore the growth that painting from life provides. This subject is a great way to develop skills, and there is always something from the still-life display to feed your inspiration. Take your completed piece home at the end of the day.

LANDSCAPE - bring your choice of reference photo

Revisit a favorite place or imagine somewhere that you would like to be. Creativity begets creativity, and landscapes are a good place to start. Work as realistically or abstractly as you like. The native habitat fields at my home/studio can provide a source of inspiration. You can capture those with your phone or iPad. Also, you may bring a source photo of your choice. Take your completed piece home at the end of the day.

Revisit a favorite place or imagine somewhere that you would like to be. Creativity begets creativity, and landscapes are a good place to start. Work as realistically or abstractly as you like. Snow-covered ground can provide a great source of inspiration with room for interpretation. I will be demonstrating a snow scene, but you can choose any landscape source image that you like. Take your completed piece home at the end of the day.
